Decorative artworks

Visual arts are the art forms such as sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography and many others. Many artistic fields include aspects of the visual arts as well as other arts. Visual arts also include applied arts such as interior design and the design of decorative objects.

Current usage of the term "visual arts" includes fine arts as well as applied, decorative arts and crafts. Before the turn of the 20th century, the term "artist" was often limited to a person engaged in the fine arts (such as painting, sculpture, or engraving) rather than crafts, crafts, or applied arts.
